Born and raised in a small town near Vienna, Austria, Chef Christian drew inspiration
from his mother’s kitchen where he grew up dining on traditional Viennese dishes such
as wiener schnitzel, spaetzle and goulash, he soon developed a passion for the culinary
arts. Christian started his culinary career in 1993 whereby after graduating from high
school, he attended the Austrian Culinary Institute in St.Poelten, Austria.

After graduating, Chef Christian worked as a commis de cuisine for Europe’s biggest CatererDo & CO, at Atila Dogudans new Flag Ship Restaurant, Aioli, Across from St. Stephan’s Cathedral in the inner City of Vienna, awarded with one Gault Millau Star and the newcomer of the year award. It was Christian’s first taste of Catering when he worked catering to 20,000 guests of the paddock club in Formula 1 Grand Prix’s in Germany Hungary and Canada,. In 1999 he accepted an offer to work the winter seasons at Arlberg Hospiz Alm Restaurant, a one Michelin Star Relais & Chateaux in Tyrol, Austria.

With hard work and dedication, he worked his way up to junior sous chef. Outside of
the busy winter seasons, Christian wanted to explore all fields of the culinary world,
working for the Yachts of Seaborn, awarded best small ship cruise line, as well as
celebrity Cruises, awarded best large ship cruise line, for Bank headquarter Kitchens
and IBM Cafeteria.

His first US experience was as a Chef de Partie at the prestigious Chateau du Sureau
Erna’s Elderberry House in Oakhurst in California, a Relais & Chateau establishment.
After years of exploring, Chef Christian returned to Vienna to work at the 1-Michelin Star Restaurant Korso Bei Der Oper, under the renowned chef, Reinhard Gerer, who won the Gault Millau Chef of the Year Award in 2005 where he learned the secrets to localcuisine with French technique.

In 2006 Chef Christian moved to New York City. After a short engagement at Café Gray
on Columbus Circle, he held his first Chef de Cuisine position at Brasserie Klee,
considered one of the best Austrian-German restaurants in New York City. Under the
owner and Chef Daniel Angerer, led a brigade and was responsible for overseeing the
daily operations of their kitchen.

Chef Christian had his first TV appearance in 2008 on Iron Chef America supporting
Chef Daniel Angerer in his face-off with Chef Bobby Flay,

In January 2009, he was hired to work as a Tournant at Le Cirque and with hard work
became Sous Chef in 2010 and Chef de Cuisine in 2011. He continues to create unique
dishes and menus for celebrities, politicians and other luminary guests. His proudest
moment came when the King of Swaziland so enjoyed the menu Chef Christian
prepared for him, that he had his own private chef flown to New York City to be taught
by Chef Christian and extended an open invitation from the King himself..
In 2012 Chef Christian participated on the food network show ¨Chopped¨ in the episode
¨say cheese¨, He cooked a memorable round one and was the undeniable favorite for
the rest of the episode.

in August of 2015 He moved to London, England to open a German/Austrian concept
Restaurant, called German Gymnasium, For the D&D London Group, it quickly turned
into the new flagship Restaurant of the Groupp,. In 2018 and 2019 CHef CHristian was
then part of 2 more Openings, D&D´s 20 Stories in Manchester and Pont de la Tour at
Tower Bridge, London, before Returning to NYC to Open another Restaurant for the
D&D group, called Bluebird, at the Deutsche Bank Building in Manhattan´s Columbus
Circle.

2020´s PANDEMIC FORCED the restaurant to close and reopen multiple times in the
span of 1.5 years, Unfortunately the restaurant’s initial success could not be reached
again despite Chef CHristian´s hard work and dedication to the group.
In 2022, after a brief time in Dallas Texas, CHef Christian took the executive Chef
position at District Winery in Washington DC, leading the Farm to Table concept as well
as the Catering Department.

In May 2024, Chef Christian joined the Team at the Outermost INN in Aquinnah on
Martha’s Vineyard. His style can best be described as ´simple cooking, less ingredients, with focus on supporting the local community. He enjoys creating unique presentations for his discriminating clients by mixing household items with a modern, often very unique
twist.

On his days off, Chef Christian often volunteers his time for the benefit of the
community, He is a member of the RED CROSS in Austria, the Medical Reserve Corps
in Denton county and can be found at animal refuges, assisting in the care of
abandoned Cats and Dogs. Chef Christian enjoys watching sports and attending
concerts as well as hosting Dinner for Family and Friends.
